# 37. Fees and payment review

Distinguish platform charges, network costs, account rent and optional purchases.

**Current reference:** [Platform Fees & Economics](https://spawnmeme.com/fees). Exact live quotes and wallet transaction review take precedence over a static guide.

## Read a transaction before approving

1. Confirm the site, feature and selected wallet.
2. Compare the quoted asset/amount and intended token mint.
3. Check network fees, account creation and optional purchases separately.
4. For a service purchase, let the site build its payment reference. Do not replace it with an unrelated manual transfer.
5. Save the order ID and transaction signature after submission.

A signature means you can inspect the transaction; it does not by itself prove success. A failed submitted Solana transaction may still incur a network fee. A successful service payment can precede the site's confirmation or moderation step.

## Avoid duplicate payments

If SOL left the wallet or a signature exists, use the relevant recovery action: **Retry registration**, **Check payment**, **Check my payment**, **Retry verification**, or the NFT/airdrop continuation control. Check the receipt before starting over. Only discard an unpaid quote when you have verified that the wallet sent nothing.

## Common misunderstandings

“Free mint” can mean zero creator price while platform/network costs remain. “Free deployment” can mean only the platform launch fee is waived. Account rent is separate from trading value, and may be recoverable only for eligible accounts under the relevant rules. A paid promotion is visibility, not a token purchase or return guarantee.

If the wallet amount materially differs from the quote and you cannot explain it, stop before signing and ask [support](/spawnmeme-docs/feature-guides/reference-and-support/39-support-and-safety.md) with the page and quote details.

## Limit-order costs

[Limit orders](/spawnmeme-docs/feature-guides/discover-and-trade/42-limit-orders.md) carry **no SPAWN fee**. The minimum order is **$10**. Solana network fees and any Jupiter fees apply. Deposited order funds are trade principal, not a SPAWN service payment.

## Creator earnings and claiming

Tokens launched with creator fees earn the launch wallet about **0.25% of each bonding-curve trade**, from the first trade. This is included in the existing **1.2% trading fee**, not an additional charge. Tokens launched before creator fees were enabled retain a permanent 0% creator share on the curve. After graduation, creators can claim the eligible trading fees of the locked Meteora pool, after Meteora’s share. Earnings require trading and may be zero.

The current creator-fee configuration allocates **0.24% of trade value to Meteora**, **0.2496% to the creator** (displayed as about 0.25%) and **0.7104% to SPAWN**, before any referral payout from SPAWN’s share. These sum to the existing 1.2% fee. The pool’s permanent settings determine eligibility.

Claims have no additional SPAWN service fee; Solana network costs apply and should be reviewed in the wallet. Fees are paid directly from the pool to the launch wallet in SOL. See [50. Claim your creator fees](/spawnmeme-docs/feature-guides/launch-and-manage-tokens/50-claim-creator-fees.md).

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://spawnmeme.gitbook.io/spawnmeme-docs/feature-guides/reference-and-support/37-fees.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
